Please read these instructions carefully before applying to avoid any inconvenience:
- The validity of the visa starts from the date of issue and not from the date of entry into India.
- Time Taken: Applications received at the counter, when complete in all respects, are normally processed in two working days’ time. Visas on Non- Spanish Passports are granted after five working days. It may take longer for Visas other than tourist /business that may require prior approval from the authorities in India. Passports can be collected between 1500 hrs to 1630 hrs. For collection of passports the cash receipt must be produced.
- Applications received by post are processed in 2-3 weeks (10 working days) time. During this period the applicants are advised to refrain from making telephonic/written inquires about the status of the application. Please read the section on submission by post carefully before sending applications by post.
- Grant of Visa can be refused without assigning any reason irrespective of the fact that the application has been duly submitted by the applicant. Visa fee once received is not refunded even if the visa application is withdrawn or visa not granted. The Embassy has the final decision regarding the duration of the visa to be granted to the applicant.
- Change of purpose of visit to India is not permitted once you have reached India. Depending on the nature of your journey, apply for the correct visa category.
- Personal Cheques and Credit Cards are not accepted. In case of postal applications, payment can be made by Money Order. Cash is accepted only at the Consular Counter.
- No urgent visa service is available for non-Spanish/non-Andorran passports.
- Sealed envelopes through private couriers are not accepted. The couriers are required to deposit the applications at the counter with the prescribed fee, and obtain the receipt which will be issued after due scrutiny of the application. Embassy will not be in a position to respond to any enquiries in respect of the applications deposited through private couriers in the absence of receipt/application number issued by the Embassy. It will be the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the contracted courier company awaits opening of the application and obtains the receipt after submitting the application.
