Bharti Group buys back 4.99% stake from Vodafone

 

Sunil Mittal-led Bharti Group on Wednesday bought back 4.99 per cent direct stake from UK's Vodafone at an estimated 1.4 billion dollar, raising its holding in Bharti Airtel to over 50 per cent.

On the 8th World Hindi Conference in New York

 

The 8th World Hindi Conference is being held from 13-15 July 2007 in New York, USA. About 800 delegates are expected to attend the conference including Hindi scholars, litterateurs, and teachers from across the world. Official delegation comprising eminent Hindi writers, journalists, and representatives of Hindi Organizations including those from non-Hindi speaking regions will attend the Conference. Minister of State for External Affairs Shri Anand Sharma will lead the delegation. Official delegation from Mauritius, Nepal and other counties will also participate in the Conference. The Mauritian delegation is being led by Shri D. Gokhool, Minister of Education and Human Resource and the Nepalese Delegation is being led by Shri R. Mahato.

 
   
 
 

Ethiopia to benefit from India`s technology transfer: Zenawi

 

Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said Ethiopia is benefiting from India's capacity building and technology transfer assistance. Holding talks with the Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee here Thursday, Zenawi said various Ethiopians are receiving educational trainings in India owing to recognition on both sides of the need for the capacity building sector.

 
   
 
 

India to participate in international nuclear-fusion project

 

India's federal cabinet Thursday approved the country's participation in the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project aimed at demonstrating the feasibility of controlled nuclear fusion as a source of energy.
