Applications along with all the necessary documentation can be submitted by the following means:
1. By hand:
The application can be submitted in the Embassy during 0900 hours to 1230 hours on working days. Once the visa is affixed, the passport can be collected from the Consular Section between 1500 hours to 1630 hours.
2. By post:
The fees have to be sent by Giro Postal only. The postman then needs to bring in the money to the Embassy in cash. The top of the application form should bear the Giro number and the date and a copy of the Giro receipt must be enclosed with the application. Each application/ group should have a separate giro number and receipt, which should have been issued in the name of none other than the applicant/leader of the group.
DO NOT SEND CASH OR CHEQUES ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION FORM.
The application must be accompanied by a self-addressed envelope with sufficient stamps affixed on it to enable us to return the Passport through certified post. (We DO NOT accept cash for buying and putting stamps on the self-addressed envelope). Usually, stamps worth € 3.50 - € 4.00 are required for sending up to two passports. For returning more passports, we suggest that the applicant affixes the required stamps in consultation with the Post Office. (No date on Stamps)
We recommend the use of Postal Express for submitting applications. The applicant should attach a special Postal Express envelope after duly filling up the information ticket attached to the envelope. The special Postal Express envelope can be bought by the applicant ONLY in the Post Office.
3. By messenger service:
The applications can be sent through messenger (courier) service during 0900 hours to 1230 hours on working days. Once the visa is affixed, the passport can be collected from the Consular Section between 1500 hours to 1630 hours. The fees must be paid by the courier in the Consular Section of the Embassy. Sealed envelops through private couriers are not accepted. Payment by cheques or credit cards is not accepted.
PLEASE NOTE: For urgent visa service, the applicant must apply in person at the Embassy of India in Madrid. Urgent visa applications are not accepted through commercial messengers.
